Bathrooms with WOW factor

Bathrooms are becoming one of the most exciting places to decorate… especially now we have Pinterest and Houzz which are perfect places for inspiration… today we are sharing some bathrooms we have recently come across on Pinterest and just had to share these images as they really show how adventurous you can be, even within a more simple execution, the use of colour, texture, lighting and materials can really make the bathroom a lovely place you’d like to take a bath in every night of the week!.

From featuring an interesting pendant over the bath for a great focal point and to some atmosphere and ambience to the space, to mixing warm and cool colours… I absolutely love the bathroom at the bottom left which features that lovely cool grey mosaic tile, but then with the warm timber and stone tile, it looks so fresh.

The use of warm natural timber with a dark charcoal grey tiles also adds WOW to the above right image.

See all the possibilities 🙂

Even the unique use of old vintage spotlights to add some nice rustic vintage charm above the vanity or some hollywood glamour with the gold fittings, exposed plumbing and stunning Carrara marble. The level you can push is endless!

Dulux 2014 Colour Trends 2014 – Part 1

Well the first quarter of 2014 has been a huge celebration of colour and design with awards being presented left and right in the industry. So, I thought it would be nice to go back and share some more of the Dulux Colour Forecasts for this year… have you considered using any of these colours before? Would you in future?

The two schemes we are featuring today are Digital Nomads and Precious Elementals.

DIGITAL NOMADS

Inspired by exotic destinations such as India, Africa and Morocco, this vibrant colour scheme captures the imagination and imagery of the Digital Nomad.

This global fusion of colours celebrates these cultures and the contrasts, creating this bold and unique palette, which oozes warmth of the exotic places to which they were inspired.

PRECIOUS ELEMENTALS

This scheme just draws me in… inspired and deeply aware of the affect civilisation is having on our beautiful planet. The Precious Elementals colour scheme respects and values our Earth’s natural resources, elements and geometric forms.

The lovely palate features pastels and soft greys, and is modernised by the inclusion of mineral and metal hues. Patinas and raw finishes reflect natures weathering effects.

Exotic Retro

Exotic Portrait Fenton & Fenton

I came across this image today on Fenton & Fenton‘s gallery and I just loved it. The bold hues of blue and the amazing exotic portrait on the wall. The combination of timbers, B&W and blue just make my eyes dance over the scene.  I hope you like today’s picture of the day as much as we do!
